Electrical Engineer

Duties: Provide support and troubleshooting of client hardware, OS, applications, peripherals, network and/or connectivity problems Responsible for deployment, maintenance and support of applications and technical systems including; various Linux distributions, Windows 2008/2012, Active Directory, Exchange, VMWare, MySQL/MariaDB, SVN, and Apache Perform daily backup operations and tests, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up Proactively recommend upgrades, patches, new applications, and equipment as needed Provide Tier II/other support and troubleshooting as necessary for all technical systems Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations Manage Amazon Web Services cloud based infrastructure including; EC2, S3, Glacier, Route 53, VPC Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers and workstations. Escalate incidents as necessary Manage network infrastructure, hardware, configuration including Cisco, Dell, Ubiquiti Perform other projects and duties as assigned Qualifications:                                                                                  BS in computer science or related field preferred (minimum of AS/AAS in related field) 3+ years of system administration (or similar) experience Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) Advanced understanding of multiple OS platforms (e.g. Linux, Windows, Android, OSX) Scripting skills (e.g. PERL, Python, Powershell) Strong SQL skills and experience managing relational databases (MySQL/MariaDB/MS SQL Server) Previous experience using cloud-based platforms and virtual machine infrastructure such as VMWare or Hyper-V Familiarity with a wide array of technologies including; WiFi, BLE, VoIP, SIP, PoE, TLS, SVN, 802.11x, AES (the more the better) Previous experience managing CRM and/or ERP systems preferred Experience writing web applications using PHP is a plus Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written correspondence) in a professional and courteous manner with technical and non-technical personnel
