Marine Riser Engineer

Position Summary: Capable of directing team of engineers and specialists. Has several specialty areas of expertise that allows leadership in technical brainstorming meetings. Works with Client to plan overall approach to work. Capable of serving as Project Manager and is entrusted to occasionally act on behalf of Client. Typical Responsibilities: Plan and supervise the work of a small team of engineers. Evaluate progress of the team and results obtained and recommend major changes to achieve overall objective. Achieve quality results within budget and schedule limitations. Keep abreast of new scientific methods and developments for the purpose of recommending changes in emphasis of programs or new programs warranted by such developments. May publish technical papers and make conference presentation in riser engineering. Assist in bid preparation and resource estimating. Anticipate staffing requirements and schedule constraints. Meet deadlines, milestones, and manhour estimates. Work with client's staff in establishing methodologies and schedules.  Apply extensive knowledge in the application of advanced theories in a recognized area of expertise. Keeps abreast of new scientific methods and developments affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in emphasis of programs or new programs warranted by such developments. Capable of publishing technical papers and making conference presentations in the area of expertise. Ability to maintain full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating projects. Applies extensive experience over broad areas to ensure technical quality of work and efficiency of approach. Works as senior member in team providing leadership and direction. Frequently is INTECSEA representative in Client meetings. Job Requirements Technical Requirements: Perform complex engineering design analysis of marine risers, applying extensive knowledge of riser engineering principles, practices and related advanced techniques in the analysis of subsea structures. Utilize riser analysis software, such as Orcaflex, Flexcom. Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating projects for Front End Engineering Design and Detailed Design of Risers, including design for strength and fatigue. Ensure compliance with company quality management system, including preparing project specific procedures and in accordance with Health, Safety and Environment guidelines.  Education & Experience: Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace and 7 years (84 months) of experience in the job offered or 7 years (84 months) of post-baccalaureate progressively responsible experience in riser engineering and related structural analysis. Alternate Minimum Requirement: Ph.D. in Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace and 2 years (24 months) of experience in the job offered or 2 years (24 months) of experience in riser engineering and related structural analysis. QHSE Requirements: Learns & ensures compliance with the INTECSEA Quality Management System, including preparing of project specific procedures and in accordance with HSE Guideline for INTECSEA Personnel.
