Principal Process Engineer

WorleyParsons provides engineering services that span the entire asset lifecycle from the initial conceptual phase of major Greenfield developments to on-going asset services and brownfield modifications projects. The Select Group within WorleyParsons is responsible for front end engineering projects including conceptual and feasibility studies. Due to a recent project award we are looking to build a Flare team in our Aberdeen office and require a Lead Process Engineer to lead the team and manage the work to be carried out on the client’s North Sea assets. This is a major, long-term (and global) delivery program for a major operator involving plenty of client exposure and several interfaces. Role: Leading a team carrying out review and assessment of current relief arrangements on North Sea Production platforms. Responsible for maintaining work progress (budget, schedule) and raising change documentation where necessary Gathering data and performing analysis to determine safety and adequacy of relief arrangements. Liaison with client, vendors and outside parties in a professional manner Estimate Process man-hours for any job using the current TW Process man-hour norms Compiling cogent reports of findings and reviewing findings with operator. Making recommendations for remedial modifications. Interfacing with Operations personnel in Operator’s organization. Participating in other work as required. Where requested to undertake Process focal point duties To plan man-hour budgets and schedules for all Projects within the focal point area of responsibility. To manage all resources allocated to the focal point area of responsibility. Job Requirements Computer skills particularly of process simulation packages such as HYSYS and PRO/11 and in commercial software including databases, spreadsheets and word processing packages. Experience in the development of process flow diagrams, heat and mass balances and piping and instrument diagrams, and in sizing and specification of equipment including separators, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers and dehydration and sweetening units. A good working knowledge of the codes and standards relating to the oil and gas industry particularly the API recommended practices and ASME/ANSI pipe and pressure vessel codes. Experience of Flare, Relief & Blowdown design - Relief scenario identification, quantification and Relief device sizing. Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) or equivalent. Chartered Engineer (IChemE, IEAust or equivalent) or Member of Appropriate Engineering Institution. More than 10 years process engineering experience in design/operations support related to the oil & gas production and processing industries, with at least 4 years in conceptual, FEED and detailed design in the Oil & Gas Industry.
